Get ProA square, 1080 pixels on each side: 1,166,400 pixels in all. It is the size of a square Instagram post.
Most photos are not square. A phone photo is usually 4:3 or 16:9, so getting to a square means losing the edges or changing the shape.
Crop to fill is selected to start. It keeps the middle of your image and trims what does not fit: the sides of a wide photo, or the top and bottom of a tall one. Nothing is distorted.
Stretch keeps the whole image and squeezes it into the square. People and objects come out narrower or wider than they are. It suits patterns and backgrounds.
If the part you want is not in the middle, crop the image in your photo app first, then resize it here.
- Drop your JPG, PNG, or WebP image into the box above
- Leave Crop to fill selected, or choose Stretch
- Click Resize
- Download the 1080 x 1080 image
Formats: PNG files stay PNG, so transparency is kept. JPG and WebP files are saved as JPG, at the quality you set with the slider.
Your images never leave your device. Resizing happens in your browser with the Canvas API, and nothing is uploaded. The resized file is a fresh drawing of your image, so it carries none of the original's EXIF data: no camera model, no GPS location.
This is why we run entirely in-browser: if we can't touch your files, we can't lose them, leak them, or profile them.
