A profile background is four times as wide as it is tall. A Page cover is nearly six times as wide. Cropping a normal photo to either one keeps a thin strip across the middle and drops most of the top and bottom.
Pick a photo where what matters sits in a band across the middle. LinkedIn also trims covers to fit different screens, and its help page says to keep key details away from the edges.
- Drop your JPG, PNG, or WebP image into the box above
- Pick where the image goes from the preset list. Profile photo is selected to start
- Click Resize. The middle of the image is kept and the edges are trimmed to fit
- Download the image and upload it to LinkedIn
Formats: PNG files stay PNG. JPG and WebP files are saved as JPG. LinkedIn takes both.
Your images never leave your device. Resizing happens in your browser with the Canvas API, and nothing is uploaded. The resized file is a fresh drawing of your image, so it carries none of the original's EXIF data: no camera model, no GPS location.
This is why we run entirely in-browser: if we can't touch your files, we can't lose them, leak them, or profile them.
