    What is HEIC?

    HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the default photo format on iPhones since iOS 11. It produces smaller files than JPG at similar visual quality, but it isn't supported everywhere. Many websites, apps, older Windows programs, and non-Apple devices can't open HEIC files at all.

    Converting to JPG makes your iPhone photos work anywhere without losing meaningful quality.
