    Why strip video metadata?

    MOV and MP4 files carry hidden metadata atoms with information you probably didn't mean to share: device make and model, software that edited the file, GPS coordinates, creation timestamps, and identifying user IDs.

    If you've edited a video in CapCut and then noticed Instagram tagging it as "Made with Ray-Ban Meta" or "Made with CapCut" -- this is why. Even one source clip from a Ray-Ban Meta export leaves a fingerprint that Instagram reads on upload. Strip Meta removes those fingerprints so the platforms can't auto-tag your work.
